Guests become part of the Ahau Tulum family upon check-in. The kids can safely run throughout the sandy property and the staff will inevitably look after them without being asked. Many of the guests are repeat guests and the staff loves watching your family grow. It is common for honeymooners to visit and then return with children in the years following!
The boutique hotel is situated on the beach and is less than 20 minutes from the Tulum Ruins. Sand covers the hotel and the wide, white-sandy beach and Caribbean Sea are only steps away from all of the guestrooms. The views are spectacular from basically anywhere on the property, including the onsite restaurant. All of the wooden furniture, floors and palapas were handmade specifically for this hotel in their woodworking shop.
Ahau Tulum is ideal for families seeking a small beachfront hotel that feels like you’ve been invited to stay with extended family in an authentic Mexican cabana in the sand.

A small bucket of water is located at the entrance to each suite, as well, so sandy feet don't track sand into the room.

Ahau Tulum its just like being with the family. Gracias Mati Ferré, congratulations for your invaluable team of work and your willing to always serve and make everyone feel special; El Chef #1 de la Peninsula ISMAEL (gracias hermano) and his great staff (Angel, Daniel, Ricardo). Thanks Johnny (Juanito), Isaul, Sair, Bernabé, Rafa, Gustavo, Gerardo, Valerio, Benjamín. We'll see you next year mi RAZA. Thanks Carla, Fernanda, Leo y Javier; great hosts. El mejor hotel de Mexico.
One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. The concept is what hotels around the world should be: sustainable, caring, honest. This is NOT the luxurious type of accomodation, but it is an EXTRAORDINARY place to stay that would encourage you to connect with nature in ways some people still can't appreciate. This was our honeymoon and it was the perfect place to be. Chef Sam and his hard working staff treated us to personalized dinners full of amazing traditional meals with pairings from all over Mexico. One morning we had a yucatan themed breakfast at the tower, it started to rain and everyone ran to look for umbrellas to cover us (priceless <3). The service and the kindness of every single person that served us: Johnny, Gerardo, Berna, Isaul, Said, Rafael, just to make a few are what made us feel right at home. The attention from Mati and also Fernanda and Leo at the front desk were superb. They are a true pet friendly hotel and it is BEAUTIFUL. Everyone welcomed Luna and Cuauh and treated them as one more guest. We are forever grateful and happy to have chosen this place where we plan to return every year! We cried when we left! GRACIAS A TODOS!!! Carla y Jose Luis

Boogie boards and other beach toys are available at the hotel for guests to use, and kitesurfing, paddleboarding and kayaking are available to rent for an additional cost. Lifeguards are on duty. Beach towels are provided.
