TripAdvisor Rating

The Alaska Redfish Lodge is an affordable way to experience all that the Kenai Peninsula has to offer. Located 25 miles from the Kenai Airport, and just minutes off the Sterling Highway, its 14 cozy cabins are neatly hidden away in the trees, giving you a real sense of splendid isolation. Each cabin is fully furnished, including a kitchenette, dining table, TV, BBQ grill and various configurations of queen beds and bunk beds. The Lodge is quite family-friendly, with a spacious children’s playground that is wisely fenced against wandering wildlife, a large community fire pit, picnic tables and games like volleyball, basketball and horseshoes. The Kenai River is just a short walk through the trees, where the lodge maintains its own private fishing area on the riverside.

This family-owned lodge is designed to meet all your needs, from lodging to meals to activities. The all-inclusive packages can be customized to include anything you want, from bear viewing to halibut fishing to glacier hikes. Kids will love the combination river float and gold prospecting excursion, where there’s a very real chance at finding a gold flake or two. If you want to explore on your own, you’ll have easy access to the town of Soldotna, 12 miles away, or the coastal beaches of Kenai, 25 miles away. The lodge is close to several scenic hiking trails along the Moose and Swanson rivers, where sightings of moose, bald eagles and bears are common. With the affordable rates and exciting excursion packages, the Alaska Redfish Lodge is one of the best vacation choices you can make for your family.

Swann Lake Fire Assignment

by 538Garcia

While on the Swann Lake Fire I stayed here at the Alaska Redfish Lodge. The owner Steve and his family are very professional and curious. Was able to get quality rest after each work shift. Was also able to get some salmon fishing in while staying there. The Lodge provided all the fishing supplies including the processing of the fish I caught. I definitely plan on bringing the family back and staying here.

Crazy, out of control owner

by Kentuckylady1

We stopped by after seeing a sign for available tours. We werent looking for lodging at all. After asking about the tours, the owner mentioned he had a cabin available if we were looking. It was 11 am and we werent sure where we were going to stay so we didnt explore it further. At 7 pm, we were still in the area so I called to see if the cabin was still available. The owner said that it was and would take an hour to clean. We didnt give a name, but said we would wait an hour and come by. We went to eat dinner and then drove to the cabins after 9. We arrived to find that the cabin was still not cleaned. The owner was bizarre and started escalating, rambling about how his daughter was sick (?) And he had too much to do. We felt really put off by this and decided to just leave since the cabin wasnt ready and the owner was acting like a whack job. When we turned around to leave, the owner started yelling that we couldnt leave because we had a reservation, which we didnt--we never even gave our name. He said we were acting inappropriate because he cleaned the cabin just for us--but it wasnt even clean. He followed my husband to the car, waving his arms and yelling at him. We really felt threatened. From the car, I started videotaping him, made sure he saw me doing it and he went back inside. This guy is a ticking time bomb. The other reviews about this guy's behavior are spot-on.
