We had a very nice stay for a week at this property. It was very clean and comfortable, with a washing machine and dryer. The cabin was cozy and warm, and we were able to see starry skies and a moose with her baby across the field. It was a quiet stay in Alaska, yet close enough to Fairbanks to be covenient.

We were here March 13-15, and it was not long enough. The cabin that we stayed in was perfect. I brought my 10 year old grandson up here for his birthday because he had never seen snow. The cabin was just the right size for us. It had a great kitchen, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, fresh made granola, muffins and breakfast casserole in the refrigerator. I very nice sized bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. There is a pull out twin bed in the living room. Jim, Amanda and their daughter Kalei were wonderful, friendly and interesting to talk to. My grandson got to help Kalei with her farm chores including collecting eggs from chickens - a first for him. Then they built a snow fort and had a snowball fight. Mainly he loved jumping the three foot deep snow banks all around the property. I think I loved the total silence the most. You could look across the white snowy field toward the woods and not hear a thing. We never got to see the moose but you could that they had been there during the night. Jim and Amanda are raising Yaks, they are very gentle creatures and you can go out to their pasture and look at them and sometimes pet they, if they feel like. I will return to Fairbanks and stay at Arctic Roots again. It is so worth the eight and half hour flight from Texas.
