No trip to Panama City is complete without a visit to Casco Viejo, which translates to “old quarter.”

In the middle of a modernized city with shiny and new skyscrapers, Casco Viejo seemingly remains untouched, with beautifully historic (and colorful!) buildings that beg to be photographed for Instagram. (Casco Viejo is often compared to Cartagena in Colombia).

Inside of said buildings, you’ll find restaurants, shops, and museums. Be sure to stop at Tropical Chocolate Cafe for a chocolate tasting — it’s a must!
