The main (and only public) beach to visit during either the high season or the shoulder season is Cooper’s Beach. Cooper’s has chair and umbrella rentals, as well as bathrooms, fresh water showers and concession stands. The water is fairly calm. Enjoy panoramic views of beachfront mansions in Southampton while soaking up the sun or building a sandcastle. Lifeguards are on duty during the high season.

Parking permits are steep, at $40 per day. Some hotels and motels in Southampton include beach permits with guest accommodations, so be sure to ask at the front desk upon arrival.
