Deer Valley is a colossal ski resort in Park City, Utah, located about 36 miles east of Salt Lake City International Airport. Skiing is supreme at Deer Valley, where the resort’s six mountains provide a melange of varied terrain for skiers of all levels from December through April (based on conditions). But Deer Valley guests can enjoy in many other activities throughout the year, including mountain biking, horseback riding and even a summer camp for kids. Deer Valley is a popular choice for active families; both teens and kids who are just starting out on the slopes can take part in the resort’s extensive menu of ski lessons, Deer Valley has a children’s daycare program, and the resort’s impressive selection of restaurants and accommodations will suit most families’ vacation needs.
Kids ages 3 to 12 can take ski lessons through the resort’s children’s ski programs, which range from one-on-one sessions with an instructor to day-long group skiing packages (sorted by age). Teenage skiers ages 13 to 18 can hit the slopes with ski instructors through the resort’s Teen Escape, a group skiing lesson from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Private lessons for kids or teens can be purchased for up to five skiers at a time, and range from $120 for a beginner’s lesson to $695 for a regular seven-hour lesson.
