The largest fort in Nassau, Fort Charlotte was built in 1789 and named in honor of King George’s wife. An impressive fortitude with moat, drawbridge, ramparts and dungeons, it never saw battle but has a commanding view of the harbor. Admission is free, and tours are provided Monday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
