The capital of the Exumas, George Town holds its government and business operations, plus some churches, restaurants, shops, a small straw market, and resorts. The town lassos Lake Victoria and faces Elizabeth Harbour, where the island’s public dock is located. From here you can catch a water taxi to Stocking Island.
Visit Exuma Markets, where sailors come to provision, Towne Café for fresh bread on Saturdays, and Eddie’s Edgewater, the local watering hole.
