Alexander Hamilton was born here, on his family’s sugar plantation, which continued to produce sugar into the 1950s. The windmill tower, made of volcanic stone, and 19th Century steam engine remain around the ruins, but it’s the panoramic views of Charlestown, Nevis’ capital city, and St. Kitts that make the visit a great addition to any itinerary.
