Jennie Wade House

Jennie Wade House

548 Baltimore St., Gettysburg, 17325, PA

Literally struck by bad luck (she was baking for hungry soldiers in her sister’s kitchen), Jennie Wade was the only civilian killed during the Battle of Gettysburg. The home in which she died has been converted into a museum, where artifacts — including the door in which the bullet passed on its way to Jennie — are on display. Tours, led by guides in period attire, last approximately 30 minutes.

Tickets are free for children ages 5 and under, $4 for kids ages 6 to 12 and $8 for adults. Parking is available next to the museum, which is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
