The Lees Ferry area is actually located within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, located approximately 40 miles from Page, Arizona. This is the only place within the Glen Canyon Recreation Area that visitors can actually drive to the Colorado River. It’s used today as a launching site for rafting trips down the Colorado River. However, the historic district is still there which features the Lees Ferry Fort and several historic buildings. For families interested in learning more about the history of the area or seeing the river up close, this is a good stop!
