Across the road from Bear Mountain, this two-and-a-half-acre center with a big heart is home to a great variety of animals, including grizzly bears, bison, cougars, bald eagles, coatimundi and reptiles. Creatures here were taken in because they are unable to return to the wild, due to an injury, health issue or other circumstance. Three-legged, black bear Huckleberry is a favorite of many. Rescued at six-months old, injured and severely underweight, he is now a big healthy bear who doesn’t seem to mind oglers.
