The oldest and largest of all state museums offers exhibits on Native American culture, natural history, “Fire Engine Hall,” and the conserved Cohoes mastodon. There are some hands-on activities for kids, and you can even ride a restored 1912 Herschell-Spillman carousel. Entry is free and donations are accepted.
