Old Governor’s Mansion & Museum

Attraction

Old Governor’s Mansion & Museum

502 North Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA

Sharing many similarities with the White House, the Old Governor’s Mansion was constructed in 1929 and was used until 1963, when a new governor’s mansion was constructed near the state capitol building. Today, visitors can tour the home and see its many architectural features like a secret staircase, original frieze work and moldings, and terrazzo floors. Just as interesting, tour guides share stories of the mansion’s residents, which included nine Louisiana governors and their families.

Guided tours available Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the last tour starting at 3 p.m. Closed on major holidays

Admission
$10 for adults, $9 for seniors age 62 and older, $8 for students (K-12), and free for military and children younger than 5
