More than 23,000 ancient petroglyphs depicting Hawaiian life can be found in this area of the park. The petroglyphs illustrate canoes, people, and geometric motifs. A parking area is available with less than a mile over a lava rock trail to a boardwalk, taking visitors over the petroglyphs.
