The Royal Canadian Mint holds the key to coins. Gold and silver coins from more than 75 countries all over the world are minted here and families can see how it’s done right before their eyes. Royal Canadian Mint plants are located in Ottawa, Winnipeg and Vancouver, but only the Ottawa and Winnipeg locations are open year-round. Tour the factories and then stop at the boutiques for souvenirs, like collector’s coins, clothing, gifts and more.
The Winnipeg Location is open for tours Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $4.50 for adults (18 and over) on weekends and $6 on weekdays, $2.25 for kids (5 to 17) on weekends and $3 on weekdays, and free for children and infants under 4. A family of two adults and up to four children are $15 on weekdays and $11.25 on weekends.
