If you do just one kids’ activity in Stockholm, make it this fantastic outdoor amusement park and historical and cultural exhibit on the leafy island of Djurgarden in central Stockholm. It’s a bit like a Swedish Colonial Williamsburg, with all kinds of exhibits with people in period costumes demonstrating crafts and bygone ways of life — you’ll see glass blowing, pottery-making, a bakery and more. Kids love the zoo area, where you can spot Scandinavian animals, such as moose, bears, wolverines and seals. And there are some cozy cafes onsite, too, with kid-friendly snacks and treats. Count on half a day here, at least, and bring the stroller as you’ll be walking a lot. The Skansen Open-Air Museum is open year-round, but hours vary according to season. Admission is 150 NOK ($25) for adults, 60 NOK ($10) for kids age 2 to 15, and free for children under 2.
