A large and historic cemetery, this is the final resting places of some of New York’s most notable citizens, including William Rockefeller, Washington Irving, Andrew Carnegie and Walter Chrysler. A cemetery map is available for self-guided tours and can be picked up at the office or South Gate; maps are $5 each. Walking tours are offered April through November, with day and evening hours. Tickets start from $20 per person and advanced reservations are required. The cemetery is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
