Soldiers’ National Cemetery

97 Taneytown Road, Gettysburg, 17325, PA

One of the most popular sites to visit during a tour of Gettysburg is the national cemetery, where people may honor the thousands who lost their lives on the battlefield during the Civil War. Dedicated on November 19, 1863, with an address by President Abraham Lincoln, the cemetery became a final resting place for the Union soldiers, as well as soldiers in American wars since 1865. Cars are not allowed in the cemetery, and visits are by walking tours only.
