Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument erupted about 900 years ago, altering the local landscape and creating what is now a beautifully scenic drive in Flagstaff. The 34-mile loop takes you to Wupatki National Monument, and provides outstanding hiking opportunities and photo ops.
