Tampa Electric Manatee Viewing Center

If you time your visit right, you can see dozens or more manatees at this warm water habitat, stationed at an Apollo Beach solar power plant. At the small education center (plans for an expanded attraction are underway), you can see a hurricane simulator and learn more about the gentle giants. The center is free and open seasonally (November 1 to April 15). Go when the weather is cooler for the best viewing opportunities.
