If you’re headed to Scotty’s Castle, take a detour to see this massive crater. The result of volcanic activity, the crater is deep, wide, and eerily quiet except for the wind. It’s not a heavily trafficked area as it’s a bit out of the way from Death Valley’s other favorite attractions, but the crater worth a look if you’re going in that direction.
