A seemingly hidden gem in Spring Lake, N.J., Washington Ave. Beach is perfect for families. It is quiet, uncrowded and exceptionally clean. Visitors aren’t allowed to bring food and drinks on to the beach (which is probably why it’s so clean!), but they can eat (and leave their food) at one of the gazebos or benches near the boardwalk, just a short walk away. Plenty of restaurants and ample parking (most of which is free) are also located within close proximity of the beach.
