This outdoor elements park is a splurge, but it offers adrenaline-junky families with elementary-aged kids and teens an afternoon of oversized fun. For my kids, it was the highlight of the trip. We recommend the Monkido Adventure Course that includes climbing, zip-lining, jumping, and swinging through obstacle games on log ladders, cargo nets, rope swings, tightropes, swinging logs, and wobbly bridges, with all kinds of safety clipping along the way to protect you. Three different courses include Monkido Kids (ages 5 to 12), Monkido Classic (ages 7 and up) and Monkido Extreme (ages 12 and up). Wildplay also offers zip-lining if that’s more your thing. While you’re here, watch the highly entertaining bungy jumpers take the 150-foot plunge off the Bungy Jump bridge built above the Nanaimo River.

In summer 2016, head to WildPlay’s brand-new Niagara Falls location for the “MistRider Zipline to the Falls,” four side-by-side ziplines that descend 670 meters to the base of the falls. Another option there is WildPlay’s Whirlpool Adventure Course, which combines dozens of ziplines with other aerial adventures like rope swings and tightropes.
