First impressions are lasting, right? Well I tried to check in early but I caught the tail end of a rant by a desk staff having a rough morning. I guess there was some kind of issue with another customer and the employee was 'pretty much done with the customer service business'. The other clerk with him looked a bit embarrassed and told me it was too early and the rooms were not available and offered to store my luggage. I really didn't have much as I travel light. I can wait as I have other business I can take care of. I came back at about 3 pm....well the room was still not ready. Not much I can do but wait at the lobby and work my laptop as the WIFI was strong.

Room. Around 400 pm I was checked in and in my room. But the room felt too cold. I guessed the housekeeper turned down the temperature while working the room. I found another house staff and showed me how to adjust the temperature. The room had a 'split' style AC. A remote control thermostat was on the counter,. I had a two queen room. It was a bit tight with the 2 beds. The room was a bit dated. No USB power plugs. The room had no windows that opened to the outside. The window opened to the lobby 'courtyard'. There was also a balcony that also had the same lobby view.

Lobby. Had an open design and was well lit and large. There were plenty of comfortable seats. Nice touch here: an iced tea dispenser and an infusion water to quench your thirst.

Location. It was at the far end of town away from the cruise ship pier. I guess the town had 2 centers: one closer to the cruise ship terminal convenient to cruise passengers. The 2nd center is where the hotel was. Plenty of restaurants in this area also. There was a park next to the water where I saw a couple walking their dog.

Parking. Street parking and I was able to get one right in front of the hotel midday. I'm not sure if there was an actual lot owned by the hotel. After dinner I also ended up on street parking which was easy to find.

Breakfast. It was full and hot breakfast. One of the beverage had a leaking spout (?) so the attendants placed a container on the floor to catch the drops.

In all fairness, it was a good hotel. Perhaps one employee was just having a bad day. The morning desk lady was actually pretty good. May be the room was late getting ready as it was also the end of the season. I heard the hotel was closing on 19 Sep for the season and will be doing a remodel.
