The Big Cypress Lodge is less your average hotel stay and more an experience. (Read: your kids will love this place.) Located inside the new Bass Pro Shop’s Pyramid in downtown Memphis, this incredibly fun lodge offers more than 100 elaborate rooms and suites totally decked in a mountain cabin-vibe. The hotel site likes to say that a stay at the lodge lets families “fully immerse in the Bass Pro Shops outdoor lifestyle.” (So, if you’re more Louvre-in-Paris, maybe not. Also, kids must be okay with deer heads hanging on guestroom walls.)

The Lodge offers a set of luxury suites that are spacious and drenched in the woodsy theme (the Governor’s Suite has a full kitchen, an extensive terrace, and an insane view). The premier and deluxe rooms are a little easier on the bottom line, but are also beautifully themed in woodsy. All suites and rooms have a fireplace, a mini-fridge, free Wi-Fi, coffee maker, flat-screen with a great cable package, and free parking. Many rooms and suite have balconies. Guests rave about rooms with views overlooking the Bass Pro Shop specifically.

Two onsite restaurants are experiences by themselves. Guests can ride a glass elevator to the top for dinner at The Lookout, or eat more casually and take in a meal while bowling (13-lanes) in an underwater experience at Uncle Buck’s.

The Big Cypress Lodge is 10.2-miles to Graceland Mansion, is 1.1-miles to visit the famous Peabody Hotel ducks, 1.3-miles to Downtown Memphis, 3.7-miles to the Memphis zoo, 1.3-miles to the Orpheum Theater Memphis (free summer movies), the 7.9-miles to the Pink Palace and Planetarium, 10.8-miles to the Big Back Yard, 6.8-miles to the Children’s Museum of Memphis, 0.7-miles to Mud Island River Park and 1.5-miles to Huey’s Downtown (kid-restaurant).
