The Black Bear Inn is a luxury waterfront bed and breakfast built in 2007, open year-round and located just a few miles from the heart of Ketchikan. All of the rooms come with complimentary views of the Tongass Narrows and some of Alaska’s finest artists have their work on display throughout the Black Bear Inn, adding a unique local touch to the Inn. The oversized rooms at the Black Bear include memory form pillowtop queen beds, plus either a full size second bed or a daybed, a flat-screen TV, microwave, refrigerator and soft terry robes.
At the end of your family’s Alaskan adventure, spend each evening out on the covered Summer Kitchen, relaxing in the 10-person hot tub, huddled around the fire pit or presiding over the BBQ grill as you and your family watch the sun set at the far end of America.

Jim and Nicole proved to be the most hospitable folks we have ever had on a stay. They made us feel at home but but top shelf accommodations. They have the local scene dialed in and gave us a hit list of places to go and people to meet. We got to meet some of the local artisans, experience the Totten parks, and get the flavor of the community. Thank you to our hosts!
We will definitely stay again when we return.
We stayed in the "bunkhouse," a spacious cottage with small kitchen and comfortable living area. The property is on the shore of Tongass Narrows, not quite 5 miles north of downtown Ketchikan--where you do not want to me when monster cruise ships dock, Hosts Nicole and Jim know the area intimately and will offer advice and suggestions. There is an outdoor kitchen with grills and a hot tub and a pleasant terrace for watching boats and seaplanes go past and the sun go down.
