When I arrived I was extremely impressed with the decor and ambiance of the place - it is very well done. However, I was put in Room 1 which is next to the street, lobby, and front door. Despite being a deluxe room it had no balcony and the noise was really bad. I am from NYC so I am by no means someone that needs absolute silence to sleep - but this was bad. Besides folks ringing the front desk, slamming their car doors arriving or departing the hotel (parking is by the front door), or coming in and out sometimes as late as 1am and leaving before 6am, I struggled to get a good night sleep. Also, at 430-530am their is a choir of birds outside my window that would wake me without fail. Any car that went through the relatively quiet street would wake me. That and the fact that they could not make soft eggs (fried, boiled or any way I asked for them) for breakfast was disappointing. It would help if they had a menu for breakfast (they told me the first day but there is no way to remember it all). It would also be great if they had prices for the bar. They did do a great job answering questions and being accommodating (e.g. making me a sandwich one night I did not feel like going out). Not sure if I would stay here again - it is a little out of the way and there are places closer to Green Point for the same range. I was out most of the day so I really used this place to rest - which it did not give me therefore deducting points. They should also change up the cake they offer - 6 nights of shortbread cookies (amazing!) and the same chocolate cake gets old. Same with breakfast.
This is a very small property where you will be treated with much care. Our room was amazing. We had two bedrooms, one bath, a kitchen and living area and a large porch. We were on the second floor and had to climb steps but this was no problem. The pool area is beautiful. Yogurts and breads are put out in the morning to enjoy while you wait for your breakfast to be made. We had dinner here one night (you must tell them if you'd like to have dinner as they normally aren't open for dinner). They gave us a couple of choices for the entree so they could prepare ahead of time. It was very special. The chef (who wears many hats here) interacted with us and was a delight. The food was amazing all the way through dessert (soup, salad, entree and dessert). They have a small bar area which we enjoyed before dinner. This whole place is spectacular and feels like a warm hug. Staff is amazing and incredibly friendly.
