Just returned from another fabulous stay at Castello, ideal setting with their own beach and exploring the islands, large airy rooms, great bathroom and excellent comfy beds slept so well .Great vista having cocktails watching the sun set,
& a new add on experience with an exceptional massage in the new purpose built massage hut on the beach had the best massage listening only to the waves....so good had to have another one before we left ..,,
What a lovely, cozy and unpretentious place this is!
We were so pleasantly surprised that, after moving to La Digue island, we regretted not extending our stay at the Castello!
Staff is professionnal and delightful, especially Patsy (who offers you, without you requesting it, a late departure since the next client does not arrive until late at night) , Michel who worked in the world best hotels and calls the ferry to tell them 2 of his clients are on their way and please wait, and Aneel who is the best driver ever and gets you to the jetty in no time at all. Best service ever, and that, in my books equates luxury! So guys, take a bow!
What also makes this place special is its location, right on the water with a private beach, hammocks and nice wooden loungers under the trees ( this beach has beautiful water with fun waves; but if you don't like jumping in waves, the little beach to the right is calmer; hence, you have the choice between those 2 beaches, and the nice hotel pool, or your bathtub ;-)
You can also, and you really should, visit the gorgeous Anse Georgette beach,10mn away by bike! It is located on the grounds of the Constance Lemuria golf resort, so you need a reservation (free) to get in. Reserve a week ahead, as they keep their quota of daily visitors low. Patsy got us in, even though they were full (about 10 persons on the beach...) by making a reservation to have drinks.
It was well worth it: Anse Georgette is absolutely surreal with its gorgeous turquoise water and gigantic granite blocks! We swam there all afternoon and ended up having a delicious late lunch by the C.L. pool.
We rented our bikes at the Castello hotel (200r a day). And when we got back, we slept like logs!
Our room was spacious with a large, firm, comfy bed, powerful ac, large bathroom with a hairdryer that you can actually plug in the bathroom (worth mentioning because in all other hotels, you have to plug the hairdryer in the bedroom!!!)
Only drawback is the water which sometimes isn't crystal clear, still safe to drink but I certainly prefer the 2 bottles of spring water offered by the hotel.
We were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast buffet included in the price and served in the restaurant overlooking the ocean: it was quite satisfying and included an omelet station, fresh fruit, French cheese, cold cuts, porridge with cashews or roasted coconut mash, croissants, cakes, and (what I liked best) green salad with tomatoes!
Of all the Seychelles hotels we stayed at, this was the most pleasant and the best value!
Thank you all, we'll be back!
