Nothing special to note about this place. There are many motels along this street and the 1252 was just one of them. Not sure it was any better or worse than any of the others in the area. The breakfast buffet was better than most. The rooms were clean and as advertised.
This is a run-down version of a two-star motel that charges four-star hotel prices.
The biggest problem was that the curtains did not work. That's right: no coverage from the outside. Upon complaining, the person at the desk brought out paperclips to patch together the shreds and shambles of the curtains. That's right: paperclips. Upon pointing out that it wasn't enough, she unempathetically claimed, "I really doubt anyone's going to try to see in." Well, nobody should really have to worry about the possibility in the first place, right?
So of course, we left. We didn't bother staying the night and had to drive more than an hour away late at night. The bed was untouched. The desk person suggested we contact the manager for a full refund. Which I did - twice. Both times they said to call back later, or that they'll look into it and call me back. Never a call back.
Other problems included: flies in the bathroom around the toilet (disgusting), impossible to enter the bathroom without touching the toilet (no space in the bathroom), and an old stale smell that screams "one-star motel." All this in a room that typically charges $200/night because of their tiny hot tub.
