Hotel is isolated and used mainly by travellers with Princess Cruise Line who seemed to get priority treatment on booking in and in the restaurant. Arrived to find cards for room 211 not activated and on returning to reception had to wait for receptionist to stop chatting and laughing with Princess Cruise Line Tour Manager, no apology given re the card. Room overlooked car park but was quiet, it had 2 double beds which along with pillows were comfortable, TV, desk & 2 chairs, hairdryer, bath with shower over, toiletries but no moisturising lotion. WiFi free but only available in Wrangell room on 2nd floor. Evening meal had a good choice but at last 4 were not available and they were out of rice so only mashed or roast potatoes available and had to wait over an hour for food to be served. Breakfast not good, adequate choice but tinned fruit and oats so thick they wouldn't all off spoon and other food over salted. No English breakfast tea bags only a few herbal ones and out of orange juice. Bar ran out of some red wine.

We were driving form Valdez, AK to Anchorage, AK and out in the middle of seemingly nowhere stop at this lodge. It is a great looking lodge. While we only stopped for lunch all the staff was very friendly. The food and service in the dining room was great. This was a real pleasant surprise in the middle of a long drive.
