Disappointing stay at this modern business hotel

by WSP-World-Travel

Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our Japan trip due to location. While the hotel was clean and modern as expected, various issues let it down and we left disappointed. Reception staff were helpful on arrival but lacked the enthusiasm and politeness that we had encountered elsewhere. Room was clean and of a decent size (for Tokyo) but the safe was way too small to fit certain items (e.g. a camera). The safe also had an issue with the batteries falling out which was a concern for us in case our travel documents were to get locked inside. Breakfast was also very disappointing with few options of generally poor quality food. One final complaint is the hotels eco-friendly credentials. The hotel admirably asks guests to have their rooms cleaned less in the interest of the environment but they offer a single-use gift as a reward for doing so. I applaud the hotels efforts to reduce unnecessary room cleaning but creating additional waste through single-use gifts is the wrong approach in my opinion.

No handy phone! Still great location and service though.

Stayed here a few years ago encouraged by our last stay here sometime ago. Sadly no handy this time, the handy (the free handphone) they gave was one of the most useful services apparently it was becoming unsustainable. Location is great, a ten minute walk from Tokyo station (walk to the right after exiting from Yaesu Central exit, on reaching the junction of 4 roads, cross the road, take the second right, keep walking, past the police museum and second left if I remember right.Once you see Ginza Diamond Shirasi store on the right, take the left opposite to that. Hotel is two minutes from there. You can check at the info at Tokyo Station as well. We were caught in the Hagibis typhoon, but everything was back to normal the next day. That's Japan for you. The hotel provides breakfast but no other meals. There are quite a few convenience stores within minutes, and lots of restaurants in the area.
