Located in downtown Spokane across the street from the Historic Davenport Hotel, this hotel created by the same owners gives off an entirely different vibe than the Historic Davenport. Whereas the Historic Davenport may have you feeling as though you’ve entered Europe, the Davenport Tower has visitors feeling as though they have embarked on an African Safari.
Guests are greeted by a golden rhinoceros and hippopotamus and will find even more animals like tigers and elephants inside. There is leopard print in the elevators, and golden elephant heads can be found as the ceiling trim. But don’t think tacky either. This is an animal-theme done with class and elegance, but still bringing a casual vibe for families.
Families will love the spacious guestrooms and suites, the indoor pool, Wi-Fi and onsite dining options. This modern hotel built in 2007 is an ideal spot for families visiting Spokane.

The Davenport Tower is certainly a unique hotel with an interesting decor (safari themed--which can be a little odd, but yet it worked). Several things:
1) The staff were all excellent (front desk, restaurant, etc.). In particular, the manager of the restaurat/bar area went above and beyond. My colleague had lost a gift she just bought from the Davenport store across the street (left it at a table in the lobby and didn't notice until later). She asked the restaurant staff if anyone had seen it, and the manager asked about it. The manager then went to the back and got a replacement gift free of charge (box of there wonderful soft peanut brittle). That was really nice.
2) The furniture, room, facilities, etc. are all extremely well maintained.
3) The decor is odd--a safari theme, but interesting. It's certainly unique, and a lot of thought went into it (and somehow they managed to pull it off as interesting and not tacky).
4) Room service and the restaurant were excellent too.
I definitely recommend this hotel if staying in Spokane.
We spent one night in this beautiful hotel, and we wish we could have stayed longer.
From the moment we arrived, the staff was knowledgeable, cordial and efficient. The hotel is located downtown Spokane. It is a walkable distance to all major attractions and the main shopping district. If you are driving, the parking garage is conveniently located right across the street from the hotel. You will find a cafe, restaurant and bar located in the main lobby, perfect for an early coffee or a late night drink.
Our room was spacious with a very pretty view of the city, and a beautiful big shower.
Don't look any further and book a room at the Davenport, you won't regret it!
The heated, indoor pool is a great place for families to hang out and swim after a day of exploring Spokane. The pool is open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and pool towels are provided. Restrooms are located just outside the pool area and the elevator goes directly from the guestrooms to the pool.
Families will love to take the hotel's bikes out for a spin. The paved, 40-mile Centennial Trail and Riverfront Park are only a short distance away from the hotel.
Safari Room Fresh Grill and Bar
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, this casual dining spot is family friendly and continues the safari theme. Flatbreads, BBQ and mini desserts are the favorites here. The breakfast kids' menu offers items like pancakes, French toast, eggs and cereal, while the lunch and dinner kids' menu offers items like peanut butter and jelly, grilled cheese, chicken tenders, kids' sliders and mac and cheese. The restaurant opens at 6 a.m.
Located in the lobby, for those looking for caffeine and snacks, this is your spot. Starbucks opens at 6 a.m.
