When you must leave the solitude of the inn, it’s a quick half-hour drive to the entrance of Denali National Park, where activities and excursions abound. Don’t hang around the touristy areas for dinner, though. Drive back to Healy for great food at reasonable prices. Rose’s Cafe and Black Diamond Grill are local favorites that are great for kids as well. The newly opened 49th State Brewing Company, with the best burgers and ribs in town, is also nearby.
