With a free trip from the airport, this hotel is great for vacationing families. Golf lovers can head to a number of nearby courses. Several local restaurants are within a mile from the hotel. Families can swim, water ski, raft, and kayak at Mobile Bay. The USS Alabama is also a family favorite attraction where guests can explore WWII era ships. The Gulf Coat Exploreum Science Center has an IMAX theater and rotating science exhibits. At the hotel, breakfast is included and there is an outdoor pool. Guestrooms can accommodate up to four guests with two queen beds and rollaway bed and cribs are available.

I really wanted to love this hotel

As far as staff, you couldn't ask for any friendlier but that's the highlight of this hotel. We arrived on 10-9 after a 9 hour drive only to lay down and discover dried up snot on our sheets. The resolution offered was an apology and for us to move all of our 5 bags of luggage to another room. Upon doing my usual bed bug inspection, I found (what looked like) dried up blood on one of the sheets. It was rather cold later that night so after turning down the a/c, the room smelled strongly of urine. Based on the reviews, I really wanted to love this hotel but never again will I return to this location.

Terrible customer service

We were traveling from Illinois and were planning to arrive around midnight. Due to the fact that we had our two children and our foreign exchange student, we needed a room to accommodate all 5 of us (either a roll away bed or a pull out couch). We called when we were about an hour and a half away to make reservations and verify they could accommodate us. The answer was yes. When we arrived and spoke with Jacobi at the front desk. My wife asked if the bed would be in our room or if we would have to wait on it. Jacobi told us “99% of the time the bed is in the room when you get there”. We went to ou room and got ready for bed. Approximately 20 minutes later (now we’ll after midnight) our phone rang from the front desk. Jacobi told us that there were not any rollaway beds available and there was nothing he could do for us. My wife asked if he could give us an adjoining room. Jacobi told us he could, but it would cost us an additional $80. We walked down to the front desk to talk with Jacobi more about it. He really didn’t act as if he really cared about our situation. Again, trying to explain that we had called prior to arriving and asked again when we got there, we asked if he could help us out. The answer, no. The hotel wasn’t booked full, I might add. He called his supervisor who I explained the situation to. Her answer; the employee who told you they had roll away beds was wrong. Ok, Jacobi told us the same thing when we arrived, again, she said he shouldn’t have said that. I asked her if there was anything they could do, she again said no. We had to end up leaving and going across the street to the holiday inn express. We told the lady at the front desk about what had happened. Not only did she get us an accommodating room, she discounted it. If you have to stay in the area, choose the holiday inn express.

The only reason I gave it two stars is it was new and clean.
