While my girlfriend was sleeping, the maintenance staff person seen in the attached photo approached our unit with another man and a table a chairs, presumably to place them in the room (the room was nicely renovated, but was missing a number of essential advertised items. No table or chairs. It did not have a microwave, a fridge, a trash can, adequate window coverings and other basic amenities).
The man knocked once on the door and then immediately swiped his key card and opened the door wide open without first pausing for a response, knocking again or announcing himself. The door opens directly to the bed where he and everyone in the courtyard could clearly see in. Being startled by the entry my girlfriend sat up in bed, with her breasts exposed to find a man staring at her. He quickly closed the door and went about his business without even an apology. She was terrified and feels very violated. UNACCEPTABLE!
It was bad enough to have room that, while nicely renovated, was missing so many essentials. But to have the staff so blatantly disregard the basic tenets of hospitality with no respect for people’s privacy and no effort to ensure the room was empty before entering is completely unacceptable, if not criminal.
This action can not go unaddressed. I am inclined to file a formal complaint if not charges against this employee. At a minimum I expect to see action taken by your organization to address this persons violation of privacy and ensure that he does not traumatize any other patrons ever again
The location is wonderful and Clara, the night auditor was very kind. The room was clean. The properties are undergoing remodeling. Upon checkin, be aware if the room has the amenities you require such as a refrigerator, chairs and table, and a microwave as advertised in the listing.
If you need to hang up clothes, although the closet has a cross bar, it's placed almost directly above a shelf therefore making hanging up clothes almost impossible.
The furniture was worn out, TV was crooked and barely on the stand with a remote control taped together with painter's tape. There are no outlets by the bed and there is only 1 tiny bathroom trashcan. The key stopped working prior to checkout for us and other guests.
The shared spaces are well lit. When in the room, the blinds do NOT cover the entire window. Therefore, letting LOTS OF LIGHT in and if a passerby lingers; plenty of opportunity for them to see in the room. We had the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door handle and it was on the floor in the morning. (If you plan to stay there, tape/ staple/ glue gun the sign to the door)
First surprise for was the $16 parking fee for parking near your room. This hotel has different sections. Our room was two blocks down the road. I never saw the pool. If it was near the reception office I wouldn't have walked the two blocks to use it. Room had good size TV, very small microwave and normal size mini fridge. Had a bath tub. Room on small side.
