This hotel is OLD. Really old. Long hallways, smelly. I get that it is cool but it is like a boarding house. It should cost $100 per night. I just got my bill on my cc and it is one of the most expensive hotels on my trip. SHOCKING FOR WHAT YOU GET. The rooftop bar is cool but you can go there without staying at this hotel. The view from my room was of a car park with people hanging out in it.

When the tour buses arrived to stay I realized that they probably only paid $100 so why should I pay so much more ($445). Stay in Santa Monica - much better value for the dollar.

Without a doubt my favorite place to stay in LA! Upon arrival my guests and I were welcomed with cheerful staff member, Miguel. Our stay was noted to be- a 21st birthday celebration- and so, Miguel greeted us with delicious pomegranate tequila drinks & a warm celebratory CHEERS!. To our surprise our booking was generously upgraded to a Sunset View Suite! Additionally, upon ordering room service, the hotel staff presented a bottle of champagne & strawberries, as well as, a lovely letter wishing a happy birthday!

The room was very clean and the decor was funky (satisfying a true Venice-Beach-Vibe). The ocean view was spectacular- especially during sunset (my favorite part of the whole trip was spending sunset hour on the balcony- how peaceful)! The overall atmosphere of the hotel was super special & out of the ordinary and the location was supreme- cannot beat it! Honestly, this hotel holds all the qualities of everything I could hope for in a place to stay. Upon checkout, Miguel happily accommodated a-late-check-out, and to top it all off, gave us complimentary Red Bulls- for a boost of energy to make our way back LAX...Miguel you rock!!

All respect to the General Manager, Derek Haug, who does an above & beyond job making his guest's feel like royalty. Thank you for exceeding all and any expectations. Hotel Erwin is a true & excellent example of hospitality. I look forward to staying here again and again!
