Easily the prettiest hotel in South Haven, this delightful brick building has been taking in guests since the 19th century. This hotel is truly historic with an original tin ceiling, tile work, lobby desk and staircase from 1874, and a fascinating moving bookcase, too.

A fantastic free breakfast is served daily (in-season) with local berries, breads and pastries. Coffee, cookies and fruit are available all day long and there are many books and games scattered about in the hotel. Unlike many smaller hotels, there are plenty of rooms here capable of housing an entire family. Inquire about the new Yellow Cottage, as well as the Blue Room, Family Suite and the Berry & Rose Suite.

Great visit to South Haven

Historic Hotel Nichols is lovely place to stay in the heart of South Haven. The new owners, David and NaDean are wonderful! They offer a fantastic history of the property. There’s a lovely “happy hour” in the evenings which offers guests the opportunity to socialize. In the morning, NaDean prepares an amazing breakfast prepared to order from 3 choices. Coffee, tea, and fruit are available to guests throughout the day. Beds are comfortable and each room is unique and loaded with history.

Charming hotel with fantastic hosts!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for the first time last year and enjoyed our stay. This year with the new owners, David and Nadean, it was even better! The hotel is charming, clean, and in a great location. Add in the happy hour, Nadean's delicious breakfasts and hosts who go out of their way to please, you'd be hard pressed to find a better place. We'll definitely be back!!
