The Hotel Principal is a budget-friendly hotel that places guests near downtown Oaxaca. There are a number of rooms available that are suitable for families. The hotel’s double rooms can comfortably sleep four family members, while the hotel’s triple rooms can accommodate up to five family members. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi to all of its guests. While there is no restaurant at the hotel, guests can easily access a number of dining options from the location.

I stayed here 5 years ago, it was okay. Recommended it to friends this year, and they had a terrible experience. Bad WiFi, not clean, drunkenness in the middle of the night. I went to visit them, and the desk clerk wouldn’t let us go up to their room with them. Just weird, and uncomfortable.

Location great but not so with the beds.

I love the location and the look of this hotel. I failed to try out the bed before booking a room as they are the worst I've had in a month of Oaxacan hotels. The pillows fall in the same category and I used a rolled up towel in replacement. The rooms have elegant high ceilings and the courtyard is beautiful and quiet. If they replaced the beds and pillows, I would highly recommend the value and also want to stay here again. Installing ceiling fans would also be a plus. Wifi is weak at times.
