Families who like the predictability of large chain hotels but still appreciate central locations and interesting decor will find the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero a good choice. Located right where Market St. and the Embarcadero meet, the hotel is essentially across the street from San Francisco’s Ferry Building and the new waterfront promenade. It’s also a short walk to Union Square. While this hotel offers family restaurants serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a fitness center, its most kid-friendly feature might be its actual design, including a glass elevator and an open-air lobby that you look down on from the surrounding hotel corridors on any floor.

No room service. No pool, no spa. Bad coffee you have to make yourself. Over priced breakfast. Dark hotel with no windows on the atrium level. Conference rooms underground. No real hotel shuttle to and from the airport. No amenities for Hyatt members. Bad experience.
The hotel was very responsive. The rooms were very clean and the views were amazing. We were here for a conference. The conference facilities were very good, although the WIFI could have been better. The hotel is walking distance to many SF attractions.
