Stayed at the Intercontinental for a conference in October. Room was spacious with great view of the river and hotel is close to restaurants nearby and the hotel has a restaurant as well however I did not dine there. You can Uber from airport however the metro bus runs right by hotel from airport and takes about 30 minutes for $2-2.50

Riverfront rooms are really nice - my colleague got one on the 20th floor. My room cost more, but was on the 6th floor looking at a parking garage, backsides of old buildings, and alleys. She had a complimentary bottle of wine. I got stuck in a back hall next to a family of screaming kids and crying babies and a mother-in-law (there were 6 people in a single king bed room).

No vending machines; I was told they were removed from the entire hotel, and had to walk 3.5 blocks up the street to a Walgreen's. No shower curtains - water splashes everywhere. King bed - but every guest must sleep on the same side in front of the TV like I did, in the same saggy rut. Cleaning staff don't clean walls or ceiling fixtures, or in the large spaces around the bathroom mirror.

That part of St. Paul is pretty boring in autumn. Local restaurants are either too expensive or are dives. The hotel restaurant was overpriced food. I had breakfast there. The waitstaff were okay, but the food was mediocre and my plate was always swimming in a puddle of grease.

Gracie the concierge was super friendly and helpful. The sole bright spot for this hotel. I wish her well.
