We love Kimpton Hotels & Resorts — and this cozy property, located in Manchester, Vermont, is certainly no exception! The mountain-facing hotel is close to downtown Manchester, the Manchester Designer Outlets, several museums and hiking opportunities galore.

Family-friendly features include an onsite restaurant, plus in-room dining; an outdoor swimming pool (open seasonally) and complimentary bike rentals. Parents will love the daily (and free) wine hours, hosted from 5 to 6 p.m.

Like all Kimpton Hotels, Taconic also features the Kimpton Kids Program, with kid-specific room amenities (child-size bathrobes, outlet covers), kids’ menus, equipment rentals and more.

The Kimpton Taconic Hotel offers guestrooms with one king or two queen beds, and some have a fireplace in them. Suites are also an option for families. Many rooms are pet-friendly!

A $20 resort fee applies.

Quite a few years ago we stayed at the Village Country Inn which occupied this spot until it closed and fell into disrepair. The Kimpton Taconic approximates the footprint and is really a proud replacement that maintains the charm and feel of that old inn while providing lovely amenities. We had a wonderful weekend stay.

Cozy elegance

The Kimpton Taconic is a joy in any season. However, the beauty and warmth of a nice wood fire is much appreciated on a cold Autumn day. Our room wasn’t ready so we waited in the main lobby living room in front of a pleasant fire. We were thrilled before we even entered our room. A few glasses of wine also helped.
