Located 45 minutes outside of Washington, D.C. in Leesburg, Lansdowne Resort overlooks the scenic Potomac River Valley. The 476-acre property houses nearly 300 guestrooms and suites which received an extensive renovation and redesign (to be completed by spring 2016). Rooms are equipped with one or two beds, a Smart television and an oversized chair. Suites offer living rooms, dining areas and bay widows or balconies. All units provide terrycloth robes, coffee machines and Wi-Fi. The 1,000-square-foot Presidential Suite (now taking reservations) features hardwood flooring and custom area rugs. A large couch in the living area and a dining table with seating for four is also featured in the Presidential Suite.
Four onsite restaurants are inspired by the Virginia countryside and Chesapeake Bay seafood and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in both casual and more elegant settings.
A couple tennis courts and a nine-hole golf course spread across the grounds, frequented by Sharkey — the resort’s mascot. There are five pools on the premises, including a zero-depth activity pool, an outdoor waterslide and a water fountain. Parents may enjoy exercise classes and a racquetball court. The “Funceirge” will fill you in on which activities are currently happening at the resort. Summertime is a family season at Lansdowne. These months are filled with pool activities, a Friday concert series, family bingo, game nights, pie eating contests and more. During Friday concerts, Resort Rascals (a children’s program) runs supervised movies, pizza and popcorn in the Amphitheater for an extra fee. Themed children’s birthday packages are typically available for 8 to 20 kids. Special excursions and classes that cater to adults are available for an extra fee. Parents can try a wine tasting, learn cake decorating techniques or partake in stress-reducing spa treatments.
Getting to this resort is easy, as it is set minutes away from Dulles International Airport in Loudon County.

don't book through hotel. room rates too expensive. would have liked to play the golf courses. did not have enough time, beautiful locale. since we were not familiar with the area and had no mode of transportation, we had to eat all meals in the hotel. food was acceptable but would have liked to try somewhere out of hotel.
Nice place. Rooms need a little updating. No water pressure in shower. There was a wedding reception in the restaurant which made it quite loud while dining but food and service was good. Stayed here before golf courses are very nice.
