We hiked up Rainbow Falls Trail and down Alum Cave trail. Both very steep (hiking poles recommended!), but amazing views and scenery all along the way.
Staff were friendly. The cabins were quaint. There was complementary hot chocolate and other drinks to enjoy which was a nice treat. The meals were served family style and were delicious. Many guests who where there talked about their families having come to LeConte Lodge many times over the years up and I can see how easily this can become a tradition!

A neat experience but the staff was distant and just did not want to be bothered by guests. The accommodations were as expected: rustic, quaint, and clean. The sunset and sunrise were absolutely amazing. The food was good and plentiful though they did run out of several things we had plenty.
I expected the staff to be more interactive with the guests. These men and ladies have to be neat folks to commit to working at the lodge all season. I would have loved to interact with them more. But answers were short and to the point and you could tell the answers were memorized. They gave the impression they would rather not be bothered by my questions. They were focused to getting the job over with and kind of impatient with us guests. It was a neat experience and I hope to go back, but I hope for more friendly attitude next time. Maybe it was late in the season or maybe the management is on their case and giving them a hard time, but they just didn't seem happy.
