Well I was thoroughly disappointed.
We sat for a long time waiting to get milk and lemon for out tea.
So long the drink was cold.
I knew we should have got up and left then.
4 of the sandwiches were stale and totaly inedible.
The scones were just ok.
I will stop there as I am so upset I feel like walking out.
I stayed 4 nights in this luxury hotel and we had a really wonderful stay.
Our room (upgraded to a bigger one with a view) was spacious and super comfortable. The view of Westminster Bridge and parliament houses was nothing short of magical to wake up to everyday. Beds were very comfortable. I also found the room amenities to be good - coffee/tea making facilities, free WiFi (if you sign up as a Bonvoy member), TV with various streaming options.
Location is very convenient too. You can walk to all the key sights (between 15-30 minutes). Waterloo tube station is just behind the hotel. Waterloo train station is also just behind the hotel - which makes it easy to catch the train for daytrips around UK.
I’ve visited London many times previously and always opted to stay in a budget hotel. This time, due to a good corporate rate, I stayed in the London Marriott County Hall as a treat. And to me, the higher price was absolutely worth it. We had a lovely restful stay and felt refreshed each day to explore.
Thank you for a lovely stay! Special thanks to Raquel at the front desk who processed our check in smoothly and was so friendly & helpful.
I am already planning to return again soon!
Points to note:
- Breakfast: did not try but it seemed expensive and in London, there are so many other affordable breakfast options just nearby / right behind the hotel.
- Rooms can be quite a walk from the lifts due to the inherent building design. If mobility is an issue, do consider requesting a room nearer the lifts.
