I had the best experiences interacting with every staff member of the Lone Mountain Ranch from the beginning with the assistance with booking/planning for the stay to the end of being provided transportation to the airport which was nearly an hour away from the ranch. Each staff member was amazing and it really felt like people wanted to be there rather than people having to be there.
The activities provided were so fun and relaxing and had staff there to guide the way and supervise. Archery! Horseback riding! Hiking! Canoeing! Guided tour of Yellowstone Park (Forest was the best guide and really passionate about what he does)!
I stayed in Black Bear cabin. It was comfortable, cozy, amazing, and clean. The bed was super comfortable. I do recommend that if you would like more privacy then to opt for a private cabin. Black Bear cabin was one of the duplex cabins and I could hear the people on the other side of the cabin speaking/moving around.
The food at Horn and Cantle WAS AMAZING. Oh my goodness. The package that I had was all inclusive, which does include all meals from the restaurant. The food alone was worth it, especially the dinner menu.
I highly recommend Lone Mountain Ranch. It may appear to be quite the splurge but with everything included in the package plus the environment, the hospitality, the food, etc.. Definitely worth it.

This was a bucket list gift for my husband and our 30th anniversary was the perfect time.
From the time we landed in Bozeman, our trip was a dream come true. Miles picked us up and drove us to the ranch. He and my husband really hit it off. They didn't stop talking the whole way. Miles dropped us off at the outpost to get checked in while he delivered our luggage to our cabin. Tess walked us to the Ouzel cabin where the record player was on, playing some of our favorite music.
After settling in, we walked over to the saloon for a drink(be sure to try the Cold Smoke Scotch Ale) and to take in the beautiful sights from the porch before our intro horse ride. Our bartender, Steven is from our town in VA. We were surprised to meet so many East coasters.
Matt, our wrangler was very helpful and patient with us as novice riders.
Dinner at the Horn and Cantle was amazing. Our favorite meals were the bison short ribs, tomahawk ribeye and the bouillabaisse. Pace yourself. We split most of the entrees and were still stuffed.
All of the staff were so accommodating. Our special requests were all fulfilled.
Our morning coffee delivery was a real treat.
We enjoyed a day of shopping in Big Sky and exploring the ranch, a morning fly-fishing and afternoon porch sitting, a full day at Yellowstone(Austin was a terrific guide) and a morning canoeing.
Thank you to all the staff at Lone Mountain Ranch for making
our anniversary trip so amazing.
