For around three years we stay at MCM Elegante Lodge & Resort twice a year. We really enjoyed this hotel. The hotel is very comfortable. As soon as we entered, we felt a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is very nice. Ruthie, reception manager, is amazing. The way she received us when we got there made us feel welcome. Every day she was with a
big smile. It seems that she really loves her job and wants to take care of the guests of MCM Elegante. Another person who impressed us was Lupe Flores. She cleaned our room this last time we stayed here at MCM Elegante. Lupe was always very kind and courteous. She kept our room 312 immaculate. She always kept herself very busy cleaning the rooms assigned to her, and even then, if we needed anything; She attended us with patience and kindness. People like Ruthie and Lupe make this hotel a perfect place to stay.
We recently stayed at the MCM Elegante in Ruidoso. Asked for and got a top floor room with two queen beds. We stayed here years ago before it was an MCM Elegante – it was a Hawthorn at the time. It seems more rundown now. They let me leave the car in front while I unloaded and took the luggage to the room. On walking into the room it didn’t smell very good and we wanted to open the window, only to discover the windows are welded shut “for security”. They could have allowed the windows to open a few inches, but no. You go to a beautiful mountain resort with great fresh air but can’t get any of it in your room. Turns out there are rooms with balconies but only with king beds (we didn’t know). The desk said the king suites with balconies are $20 more but they were all booked. In the evening we heard and felt some stomping or thumping….it sounds like someone above us is walking heavily, but there were no floors above us. This kept us awake off and on in the night around midnight and again at 5AM. Later when we checked out, we told the front desk about this. They had no idea but said they would have their maintenance people check into it. We ate breakfast in the included buffet downstairs. Their buffet is good – much better than usual. They have the usual scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, hash browns, fruit, oatmeal, made to order omelets, bread, bagels, English muffins, cold cereal, and sweet rolls. The beds were OK. Large free parking area in front, shared space with a golf course clubhouse and a community center, but parking was no problem.
