You get what you pay for

Let me start by saying the woman at the desk was very welcoming and the lobby was adorable in all of its mid-century modern glory, complete with fireplace. The charm ended there.

The room was a nice size. The bathroom was not. It is in serious need of an upgrade. They really could take away from the room and make the bathrooms larger. The sink was SLOW draining. Bring your own hairdryer, the one on the wall is old. They had shampoo, lotion, and soap, no conditioner. No fridge. The overhead fan was controlled by the light switch, it sounded like a jet plane, CRAZY loud. I mean rumbling, vibrating, loud. You could not turn it off if you wanted light. It was terrible.

The beds were not comfy, although the bedding was very nice, the springs in the mattress were not. As for cleanliness, it was fine. I think because it's so tired, it seemed like it could have used a little elbow grease in the bathroom.

I really wanted to love this place because the price was great compared to other back bay hotels. I MIGHT stay again if I am looking to save money on a future visit. It wasn't terrible. I would probably look for other options first, though.

Helpful tip, if you have a tall SUV, you can't enter the parking lot from the front. At check-in, I was told I could have come around the back. I didn't know, so I parked at a lot around the corner and it was 5 bucks cheaper for the overnight, so it worked out fine for me.
