We stayed at Mitchell's Sand Castles the last week of October 2019. Arrived just after tropical storm Nestor. First 2 days the surf was a bit rough with the red tide bothering us a bit. After that everything was excellent! We stayed in the studio cottage Coquina. Very cute place, Small but clean and had everything we needed. The staff were always very helpful. Free Bike and Kayak use! Right on the beach! We found so many conch and other shells! Most were in the range of the size of your fist, not the great big ones.
The room is a cottage, and there is no room service, or daily housekeeping, you take care of it yourself. The nearest restaurant is about a mile away, Easy bike ride or short drive. Get groceries at the local farmers market or Baileys, Fix your own meals and enjoy the beach! Even has a grill just outside the door. If you are looking for a place to pamper you, look elsewhere. If , like us, you just want to relax and not be bothered by dozens of other people, this is THE place! We will definately be returning soon!

The cottages are exactly what you want when vacationing. The owner was phenomenal, the staff was exceptional and made sure our stay was without complaints. The water was beautiful, the shells held Sanibel’s title, seaweed was nonexistent (which is THE BEST when you have little ones!), and we even saw a manatee and many dolphins!

My only complaint? I have no reason to go anywhere else because I fell in love!

OH AND THEY HAVE KAYAKS AND BIKES FREE OF CHARGE FOR THEIR GUEST!!! And a tennis court! Two pools! A play ground! Literally everything you can ask for!
