Great location

by 277dianneh

We were booked into this hotel as part of a tour. The location was great. We could walk to old Jerusalem in ten minutes. We were close to the old train station where we could enjoy great restaurants. The rooms were well equipped. The breakfast was buffet style with a good assortment of choses. Dinner was also buffet style. If you eat here you would need to like buffet style. The bar area is extremely small. I found that the night shift desk staff were less than helpful.

Not exactly wowed.

To call the Mount Zion a 4-star hotel is a bit of a stretch. Yes, the view from the lobby is spectacular. And yes, the breakfast buffet is fresh and tasty with lots of choices. However, the housekeeping is sloppy (a previous occupant's Q-tip left on the bathroom floor, no soap replacement after the first day--although plenty of shampoo, shower gel, etc.), slow sink drain. They certainly do a lot of tour business. I counted three different major tour companies with buses at the door. Standards could be higher, you'd think?
